Dealer Parts Trader ( DPT ) is the trade name of Parts Return Services, LLC.

DPT was founded in 2002, by current owner Vernon Swords, as a consulting company to help franchised automobile dealers cope with the seemingly never ending problem of idle parts inventory.

In the infancy, DPT developed a web based discount locator program to assist dealers in selling idle parts inventory to other dealers.  It quickly became obvious, that most dealers would rather sell and ship 50 idle parts to one buyer rather than sell and ship 1-2 parts to 25 different buyers.  Power Brokering was born.   Using Excel spreadsheets and a fax machine, the bulk brokering concept quickly became a hit with the dealers.

In February 2004, DPT launched its web based Power Brokering Tool.  The tool enables DPT to quickly evaluate a dealers opportunity to buy or sell idle parts inventory.   The Power Brokering Tool manages our simple 4 stage selling process enabling us to track hundreds of transactions at a time.   Even though the process is now mostly automated, we are still very interested in maintaining long term relationships with our customers.  Our account representatives are easily reachable by phone or e-mail to answer any questions that you may have.

In January 2007, we moved into our new offices just south of Indianapolis, Indiana.
